AISSLab is proud to announce our outstanding achievement at the 28th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention (MICCAI 2025), where our research was honored as Runner-Up for the Best Workshop Paper Award.
MICCAI is a world-leading conference in the field of medical image AI, attracting over 3,300 leading researchers, clinicians, and industry experts from around the globe. This year’s event was held at the Daejeon Convention Center, where our team showcased the paper, “MedXpert-CAD: A Multimodal Multi-Agentic System for Clinical Imaging Analysis via Model Context Protocol LLM-Driven Agentic Workflows,” during the Agentic AI for Medicine workshop. The research, led by Professor Mugahed A. Al-antari and presented by graduate student Mukhlis Raza, also appeared in Springer’s Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS, Vol. 16147) under the "AI for Clinical Applications" section.
MedXpert-CAD system presentation at the Agentic AI for Healthcare workshop
MedXpert-CAD introduces a pioneering diagnosis framework that combines large language models and vision encoders with specialized AI agents—including Supervisor, Online Search, X-ray Expert, and Lumbar Spinal Stenosis Experts for advanced, evidence-based support across multi-modal clinical data. The system’s innovation was recognized at MICCAI for its efficiency, explainability, and extensibility in clinical workflows, reaffirming AISSLab’s leadership in the global medical AI research community.
This achievement strengthens AISSLab’s commitment to developing rapid, interpretable, and intelligent diagnostic tools that support clinical decision-making and shape the future of healthcare AI.
