AISSLab Featured for Consecutive International Presentations
Sejong University’s Artificial Intelligence and Smart Systems Lab (AISSLab), led by Professor Mugahed A. Al-antari, continues to strengthen its global visibility by presenting cutting-edge research across major international conferences in AI and medical imaging.

AISSLab Presents Two Papers at ICMRI & ASMRI 2025 (Seoul)

AISSLab presented two research papers at ICMRI & ASMRI 2025, held at Grand Walkerhill Seoul from October 31 to November 1, 2025. This international conference—jointly hosted by the Korean Society of Magnetic Resonance Medicine (KSMRM) and the Asian Society of Magnetic Resonance Medicine (ASMRM)—welcomed participants from more than 30 countries and was co-organized by Professor Ahmet Arif Aydın (İnönü University, Türkiye).

At the event, AISSLab attracted strong interest from medical imaging and AI specialists through the following presentations:

  • “SpineSynth: A Multi-Agent-Based Automatic Inference and Report Generation Spine MRI Analysis System”
  • “A Multi-View Deep Learning-Based Automatic Diagnosis Model for Lumbar Spinal Stenosis”

Expanding a Korea-Türkiye International Research Consortium

Beyond ICMRI & ASMRI, AISSLab is steadily expanding its international research footprint through an active consortium with Fırat University and İnönü University in Türkiye. Since July 2025, AISSLab has delivered a series of consecutive international presentations, including:

  • ICBBBCB 2025 (Türkiye): “DeepSpine: MCP-based LLM Agentic Reasoning Chatbot for Automated Lumbar MRI Pathology Analysis and Diagnosis”
  • AsiaSpine & NSC 2025 (Korean Spine Neurosurgical Society co-hosted): “SpineInsight-AI” and “SpineXpert-CAD”
  • IEEE IDAP 2025: Five research papers spanning multimodal CAD, anatomical measurement extraction, stenosis classification, and explainable agentic RAG

Awards, Invited Talks, and Global Outreach

AISSLab’s momentum in 2025 also includes invited speaking and major international recognition:

  • Invited Lecture (Korean Spinal Research Association): “Next-Generation AI in Spine Diseases: Toward Fully Automated Lumbar Stenosis Detection and Reporting”
  • MICCAI 2025 Korea: Best Workshop Paper Runner-Up Award for “MedXpert-CAD: A Multimodal Multi-Agentic System for Clinical Imaging Analysis via Model Context Protocol LLM-Driven Agentic Workflows”
  • IEEE BHI 2025 (USA): Presentation of “AutoSpineAI: Lightweight Multimodal CAD Framework for Lumbar Spine MRI Assessments”
