AISSLab is proud to announce that Professor Mugahed A. Al-antari and his research team from the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science recently completed a highly successful overseas workshop tour as part of ongoing Korea-Turkey joint research initiatives.
From June 30 to July 4, Professor Al-antari’s team led the 2nd Korea-Turkiye International Joint Workshop on "Explainable Hybrid AI Workflow for MRI-Based Lumbar Stenosis Prediction." The event, supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) and TÜBİTAK, was hosted collaboratively by Sejong University AISSLab, Firat University, and İnönü University.
Key highlights included deep collaborative sessions at Firat University, engaging discussions with local hospital experts, and a dynamic presentation day featuring AISSLab graduate students Saeed Salem, Raza Mukhlis, and Hyunwook Kwon. All participants received honorary certificates from Firat University, capped by a joint signing ceremony.
On July 2nd, Professor Al-antari delivered an invited lecture at İnönü University, attracting faculty, students, and industry leaders, and held an official meeting on expanding academic and research cooperation with university leadership.
The visit concluded in Istanbul with business meetings with Maxwatt Enerji, discussing Korea-Turkey collaboration in renewable energy powered by artificial intelligence research.
Professor Al-antari remarked, “This workshop expanded global collaborative opportunities by integrating AI into medicine and energy. We will continue to promote Sejong University’s research excellence and generate impactful international outcomes.”
